NIE Management

The SSM can manage an NIE account by allowing the NIE user to add sub accounts. NIE accounts are subscriber accounts, but the number of copies are greater than normal. For example: A teacher has a class of 30 students. The teacher's subscriber account would be set up with 30 copies. Because the subscriber account has a greater number of copies than the threshold defined in the SSM configuration, the SSM knows this is an NIE account and presents the user with an NIE Managment link on the main page. The number of users that can be added to an NIE account correlates to the number of copies on the subscription. An NIE online account has the user type of "SNIE" and contains the subscribers account number.

Clicking the link shows the page below, where additional users of the NIE account can be maintained.

The number of logins can be viewed for each of the users on the NIE account. Logins are tracked thru the Newzware Authentication module.

By clicking on the Logins link, detail of the day, time and action can be performed, so the subscriber can know exactly when a user was authenticated to read the content.
